INDIA

Practical Technology. Stronger Communities. Better Access.

Network Equity is developing collaborative opportunities across India that bring together resilient connectivity, accessible healthcare and community-focused technology

Working with Indian organisations and technology partners, our focus is on practical, affordable solutions that respond to the challenges of regional and remote environments. We are particularly interested in developing pilot projects that demonstrate measurable improvements in healthcare access, emergency response and community participation

Connected Communities

Creating stronger connections between people, essential services and local opportunities

Connectivity delivers its greatest value when it becomes a pathway to services, knowledge and opportunities that might otherwise remain out of reach

Network Equity is exploring community-based connectivity solutions that could support healthcare access, education, local enterprise and essential communications across regional and remote India

The potential extends beyond internet access to include community health information, digital learning, local-language resources, service coordination and improved communication during emergencies or natural disasters

We recognise that effective solutions must reflect local priorities, cultural and language needs, existing community capabilities and the organisations already providing services

Our approach is therefore partnership-driven, working with local organisations, service providers and community representatives to identify practical opportunities and develop achievable pilot projects

Community connectivity also creates opportunities to support local languages, preserve cultural knowledge and develop digital resources that are meaningful to the communities using them. These opportunities are best explored with local organisations, educators and community representatives

Connected Communities is about ensuring that better connectivity translates into meaningful, locally relevant benefits

Exploring Opportunities Together

Our work in India is developing through relationships with organisations and individuals who share an interest in practical, affordable solutions for underserved communities

We welcome conversations with healthcare providers, technology developers, ambulance operators, community organisations and potential pilot partners

The starting point is straightforward: identify a genuine need, explore a workable solution and establish whether there is a sound basis for moving forward

Connected Healthcare

Practical, affordable healthcare solutions for regional and remote India

Access to quality primary healthcare remains a significant challenge for many rural and underserved communities. Distance, infrastructure limitations, workforce availability and unreliable connectivity can all affect access to timely diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care

Network Equity is working collaboratively with healthcare and technology partners to explore the development of affordable, modular primary healthcare facilities designed specifically for regional and remote environments

Our approach brings together four essential elements:

  • Purpose-designed facilities: Modular, readily deployable healthcare buildings developed around appropriate clinical, construction, accessibility and safety standards

  • Reliable connectivity: Secure, resilient communications supporting access to digital health services, including in locations with limited conventional infrastructure

  • Telehealth and diagnostics: Opportunities to incorporate remote medical consultations, diagnostic screening and appropriate AI-assisted health assessment technologies

  • Operational sustainability: Practical facility design that considers affordability, energy efficiency, maintenance, staffing requirements and long-term service delivery

Initial development is focused on a standardised four-bed primary healthcare facility, with potential to establish a broader range of scalable solutions as the reference model is validated

Our objective is straightforward: healthcare facilities that are affordable to establish, practical to operate and capable of connecting communities with the services they need

Connected Ambulances

Connecting emergency response with better information, communication and clinical support

In emergency healthcare, reliable communication and timely access to clinical information can make a critical difference, particularly when patients must travel considerable distances to reach appropriate medical services

Network Equity is exploring opportunities to integrate resilient connectivity with ambulance services, telehealth platforms and digital patient assessment technologies

A connected ambulance could provide a communications link between the patient, responding ambulance personnel, medical advisers and receiving healthcare facilities.

Potential applications include remote clinical consultation, transmission of patient information, real-time coordination and improved preparation before hospital arrival

Our emphasis is on practical, adaptable solutions that can complement existing ambulance fleets and emergency response systems rather than requiring entirely new infrastructure

Our particular interest is in strengthening the communications infrastructure that supports existing ambulance systems. By maintaining reliable connections between vehicles, dispatch centres, clinicians and receiving hospitals, the technology can support more effective coordination without requiring wholesale replacement of existing equipment or applications

The opportunity is to extend clinical support beyond the walls of a hospital and into the journey of care
