A Connected Ambulance uses multiple available communications networks and intelligent connectivity technology to maintain the strongest practical connection during a journey.

Depending on local requirements, this can support:

  • secure voice and video communication

  • transmission of patient observations and clinical information

  • remote clinical consultation

  • access to digital health systems

  • communication with emergency departments and specialist teams

  • improved coordination before hospital arrival.

The technology is designed to complement existing ambulance equipment and communications systems rather than requiring wholesale replacement

Measure what worked, what did not and where the greatest value was demonstrated.

Stage 5 — Scale

If the pilot demonstrates value, develop a practical pathway for broader implementation.

Who Is Behind It

Connected Ambulances is being developed through Network Equity, an initiative of FNC Projects, working with specialist technology and implementation partners.

The approach brings together experience in remote service delivery, telecommunications, digital connectivity, health systems and project development.

Our role is not simply to introduce technology.

It is to work with ambulance services and health partners to understand the operating environment, identify where connectivity can make a meaningful difference and develop a practical pathway from concept to implementation.
